2012 Fantasy Basketball Games and Super Bowl Review

Monday, February 6th, 2012

The 2011-2012 fantasy football season was another great time as usual. Lots of high scores, comeback wins, devastating losses, surprise players and cash prizes. Hakeem Nicks was the star of the receiving show on Super Bowl Sunday, bringing in 10 catches for 109 yards. Eli Manning threw only 1 touchdown pass, which went to Victor Cruz, on 296 yards passing for the game.

Ahmad Bradshaw scored a rushing touchdown late in the game on top of 76 yards rushing. He almost pulled a Brian Westbrook and laid down right at the goal line, so that time would keep on ticking, but instead, at the last second, opted to fall backwards into the end zone instead.

Tom Brady threw for 276 yards, 2 touchdowns and a pick. Aaron Hernandez caught one of them and Danny Woodhead caught the other. It was a modest day offensively for both offenses, which means a lot of low scoring super bowl fantasy games.

Fantasy basketball games will be all we have now to hold us over until we get to baseball. LeBron James is currently the top ranked fantasy basketball player right now, although there are many other guys to choose from when selecting your lineup and going for the prize money. In salary cap fantasy basketball, I would have no trouble paying the high price tag for guys like Kevin Love, Dwight Howard, Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, Andrew Bynum and Kobe Bryant.

When speaking of mid-level guys with mid-level type price tags, I would pay for names like Serge Ibaka, Emeka Okafor, Joakim Noah, Ty Lawson, Joe Johnson, Jrue Holliday, and Tony Parker. Lower price level guys who can still be productive lie in names like Jodie Meeks, Leandro Barbosa, James Johnson and Kenyon Martin.

Enjoy the rest of the 2012 fantasy basketball season. Weekly and daily fantasy baseball games will be here in no time. Until then, have fun grabbin’ boards and getting assists for cash prizes. As always, enjoy the week.

2012 Fantasy Pro Bowl and Fantasy Basketball

Monday, January 30th, 2012

This was the first time I’ve ever seen the pro bowl yield fantasy results. The game of weekly fantasy sports is being taken to a new level and we are witnessing it. Brandon Marshall came from out of nowhere and stole the show with 4 touchdown catches after only scoring 6 times in the regular season. Marshall’s stat line finished at 6/176/4. Larry Fitzgerald also had himself a huge day finishing with 6/111/3.

Steve Smith showed up to play some ball as well. He had 5 catches, 118 yards and a touchdown. Jimmy Graham continued his scoring ways catching a touchdown from Drew Brees on 5 catches and 74 yards. Drew Brees was also magnificent with 246 yards and 2 touchdowns. Fantazzle will be bringing more fantasy football action once the super bowl starts, so get ready!

Weekly fantasy basketball is in full swing and Joakim Noah seems to be on a rebounding tear right now. I guess he didn’t like all the critics talking about how something might be wrong with him this year. After a slow start to the season, where he was averaging around 7 points and 7 rebounds a game (very un-Noah-like numbers), he has hit double-digit rebound totals in his last 6 games. His yearly averages are now up to 8.3 points and 9.1 boards a game, much more respectable and Noah-like, although I do expect those numbers to increase.

SUPER BOWL FANTASY FOOTBALL –> PLAY NOW!

If you missed out on the pro bowl fantasy football game, it’s not too late to join the super bowl fantasy football games. It is the first time ever we have seen this type of game format, so come and be a part of history and earn some cash prizes while your at it. As always, have a safe and productive week.

2012 Weekly Fantasy Sports: Football and Basketball

Monday, January 23rd, 2012

It looks like we get to see the Giants and Patriots in yet another super bowl game. The 2012 fantasy football season is finally winding down to a close with the super bowl and pro bowl being the last two games of the fantasy season. Those of you in the fantasy football playoff challenge games are reaping good benefits if you chose any Patriots or Giants players.

Sunday against the 49ers, Eli Manning completed 32 passes on 58 attempts for 316 yards, 2 touchdowns and no picks. Joe Flacco tried his hardest and led the day with Eli Manning, throwing for 306/2/1. Had Lee Evans held onto that late second touchdown pass from Joe Flacco like a falling baby, then maybe we’d be seeing the Ravens and Giants on Super Bowl Sunday instead, but oh well, that’s football for you.

Victor Cruz, once again, had yet another stellar outing. He caught 10 clutch balls for 142 yards. Vernon Davis also showed up to play once again, catching only 3 passes, but for 112 yards and 2 touchdowns. He had a long of 73 yards. Finally, VD’s speed is being utilized the way we all envisioned on his draft day! Anquan Boldin tried desperately to get his team in scoring position late in the 4th quarter with several big catch and runs. He finished his day with 6 catches for 101 yards.

On to 2012 fantasy basketball, Dirk Nowitzki will miss about 4 games in order to get his so-called conditioning in check. I do think that with the shortened season, we are seeing some weird things this year. When has Dirk ever missed time due to conditioning issues? Spencer Hawes started out hot, but now is becoming somewhat of an injury nuisance. You can’t rely on players in fantasy basketball games if they’re going to be in and out of the lineup all the time. Joakim Noah is either hurt, tired, sore or not producing to his usual levels when he does play, so he’s a bit of a disappointment thus far.

I would stay away from these three guys for this week at least. Check back with us for more next week. As always, remember to get on over to Fantazzle and win money playing fantasy sports games. You can even check out our all new fantasy football pro-bowl game where you choose from only the best players in the league. Have fun and enjoy the week.

2012 Weekly Fantasy Sports Games

Monday, January 16th, 2012

Another exciting week of playoff fantasy football in the books. Tom Brady led the day with 363 yards passing on top of 6 touchdowns and 1 pick. Drew Brees was next in line for top quarterback performers. He threw for 462 yards, 4 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Eli Manning was also solid once again putting up his stat line of 330/3/1 in a win against the heavy favorites, Green Bay Packers.

Arian Foster was the lone 100-yard rusher in week 19. He ran for 131 yards and 1 touchdown on 27 carries, but it was not enough to beat the Baltimore Ravens. On the receiving end of things, there were plenty of big time players in week 19. Vernon Davis was huge in his game against the Saints and came up big, play after play. Davis finished the day with 7 catches, 180 yards and 2 scores. Rob Gronkowski was magnificent also, recording 10 receptions for 145 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Hakeem Nicks made several game changing plays, ending the night at 7/165/2. Marques Colston went 9/136/1, Darren Sproles went 15/119/1, Andre Johnson 8/111 and Jimmy Graham 5/103/2. All of these players most certainly come with a high price tag in fantasy football playoff games and this is why.

On to 2012 fantasy basketball, Kobe Bryant is the number one guy right now in terms of fantasy ranking. He has scored at least 40 points in 4 consecutive games (4 out of the last 5). I guess the guy really does still have something noteworthy left in the tank. Kevin Durant is right behind him though with LeBron James ranked third. I would say these guys are definitely worth the hefty price tag in all fantasy basketball game formats.

Be sure to check out all our cool fantasy sports games at Fantazzle. Play to win prize money or play the free games for the fun of it. As alway have a safe and productive week.

Fantasy Football Review: Week 17

Monday, January 2nd, 2012

The NFL regular season is finally over. It seems like it ended just as soon as it started. The fantasy football season isn’t over yet however, as we still have plenty of weekly fantasy football games for you to play at Fantazzle. Don’t hesitate to try out all the fantasy football playoff games. Fantasy basketball is now in full swing, so I’ll be talking about big time stats and performers in the NBA.

If your planning on taking part in our fantasy basketball games, you’ll want to get defensive-minded players into your lineup. On Fantazzle, blocks and steals are each worth 2 points a piece. DeAndre Jordan, Emeka Okafor, Javale McGee, Marcus Camby and Dwight Howard are all guys you will want to consider. They get tons of rebounds and blocks as well!

Guys that get a lot of steals like Chris Paul, Rajon Rondo, Andre Iguodala, John Wall and Jason Kidd will also have plenty of value. Remember, steals and blocks are worth two points each, so use it to your advantage. Try and get a bunch of block guys who can also score points and grab plenty of rebounds. Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard and LaMarcus Aldridge are good examples of that. Derrick Rose is also another example of a great fantasy basketball player in that he scores points in bunches and will also provide plenty of steal numbers.

Check in with us every Monday for the sports blog to see my advice on fantasy friendly players. When there is money on the line don’t hesitate to seek out some advice on who to take. Remember, when playing in any fantasy sports games, it’s always important to check out the scoring settings before selecting your team. Also be sure to listen to our weekly fantasy sports podcast where we always have a wealth of information to give you on fantasy sports players. Just take a look to the right hand side of the screen and you will see the podcast in green. Once again, have a productive week and let’s all enjoy the never ending fantasy sports season!

Sunday Night Football Game Has Been Moved to Tuesday Night

Monday, December 27th, 2010

Hi everyone,

With the news that the Sunday Night Football game between the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles would be post-poned until Tuesday night due to bad weather, we wanted to reach out and inform anyone playing fantasy football games at Fantazzle that the Tuesday night game will count for your roster’s stats this week.

If you are playing a weekly fantasy football game at Fantazzle for Week 16, all stats for players involved in the Tuesday night game will be attributed to your fantasy roster.

In addition to the stats counting for the weekly fantasy football games, we also wanted to remind our fantasy football community members about our late night game, which will combine the Monday night and Tuesday night games this week.

Simply pick your roster from the players participating in the two night games between the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons, as well as the aforementioned Vikings and Eagles.

In all, the switch from Sunday night to Tuesday night will not affect your fantasy roster whatsoever, and just as exciting, the switch provides our fantasy community with more players to pick from in the special late night fantasy football games!

Play fantasy football tonight and win cash!
