WSOP Main Event Fantasy Poker Games at Fantazzle

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

Hey everyone,

Fantazzle Fantasy Sports continues to blaze the trail for the world of Fantasy Poker. We’re bringing you not one, but two brand new Fantasy Poker Games featuring the top players in the world.

Our WSOP Challenge Game is Fantazzle’s Game of the Week. This game is a Fantasy World Series of Poker Game that will allow you to assemble a team of nine players by choosing one poker professional from each of the predetermined groups we provide. Your goal is to select the players you believe will place the highest and last the longest in the WSOP Main Event. Check out the scoring system and full rules details through Fantazzle’s Poker Page.

Our Fantasy Poker Pick’em Game will work just like any other Pick’em Game run on Fantazzle. We have 12 different matchups of well known poker players with similar skills and reputation. Your job is to pick the player who will finish with a better result in the Main Event of the WSOP. The WSOP Main Event Pick’em game is similar to what most poker players refer to as a “Last Longer” bet. Whichever player lasts the longest wins a point from that matchup.

If you’re a poker fan these are games you can’t afford to miss out on. Make sure to get your lineups in before the WSOP Main Event begins tomorrow, Thursday, July 7th at 2:55 pm ET.

Fantasy Golf Rolls on at the John Deere Classic

Fantazzle’s Fantasy Golf Challenge continues this weekend as Steve Stricker goes for the three-peat at TPC Deere Run. Like all of our Challenge games, create your team by choosing one professional golfer from each of the predetermined groups provided.

We’re just one week away from the next major, The British Open. So, keep your eye out for all sorts of fantasy golf action this coming week!

Have a great rest of the week guys,

-Fantazzle Jon

Fatty’s All-Stars Fantasy Poker Breakdown

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

We have already broken down the “Fatty’s Five” group, now it is time to breakdown the “Fatty’s All-Stars” in the free fantasy poker game. Don’t think this is useless information. Remember, your Fatty’s players receive double the amount of points that your other 8 players do. If I were you, I’d pay close attention.

The one player that sticks out the most in this group, and not just for his facial features has gotta be Mike “The Nose.” He’s the heart, the soul and the owner of Fatty’s in New York. As the most experienced poker players, next to Old Man Bill ofcourse, he has gotta be a favorite to lead the Fatty’s crew. The “Nose” will be looking to better his 2009 Main Event finish where he cashed out with nearly $33,000. Not bad at all for a week of work.

Kenny “Kendo” is a steady and reliable player who will be at the Main Event after winning a charity poker game earlier this year. The family man says Phil Ivey best fits his style of play. If he takes the ways of winning from Ivey then cashing out at the Main Event is a real possibility.

From what we’ve heard about Carmine, he’s not the guy to pick out of this group. But this will be his second appearance at the Main Event. Maybe 2010 is the year is luck finally turns around and he catches some river cards.

Then there’s Scottie Mayhem. A fairly new poker player compared to the rest of the All-Stars, his competitiveness makes him a safe pick. But one problem, this guys wears a hat with his name on it. C’mon who does that? Just for that, he’s off my fantasy poker team.

Saving the best for last. “Old Man” Bill has been playing poker since FDR was sitting in the White House. That is what you call experience. The 89-year old great grandpa had a distinguished career as a merchant marine chief engineer and business entrepreneur. Now he takes everyone’s money at Fatty’s. If experience and ruthlessness is your key in selecting the All-Star, Old Man Bill is your go to guy.

OUR FATTY’S ALL-STAR PICK: All 5 guys on this list have the possibility of cashing out in the Main Event. But our All-Star selection for the free fantasy poker game is going to the Fatty’s owner, Mike “The Nose.”

Be sure to get your fantasy poker lineups in before July 5th when the Main Event starts.

World Cup Bracket Update — Quarterfinals Set

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

The 2010 World Cup is entering the quarterfinals this Friday without the USA team in competition, but there is still plenty to be excited about, especially for the leaders of our World Cup Bracket game.

The matchups alone should have all soccer fanatics amped for the next round of the tournament, as the action begins on July 2nd with battles between Uruguay and Ghana, and Netherlands and Brazil.

The excitement of the tournament ensues on Saturday, July 3rd, as Argentina takes on Germany, and Paraguay prepares to battle top-ranked Spain.

While you can’t do much else other than cheer on your favorite team that is still alive in the FIFA World Cup, there’s still plenty you can do to better your placing in Fantazzle’s World Cup Standings page.

Remember, even if your World Cup Bracket appears destroyed by early exits, you can earn points for referring friends, which will be added to your final point total when the tournament ends on July 11th, 2010. The first place bracket and 50th place bracket at the moment are only separated by 4 points. Take action and start referring friends to put you atop. You can jump up near the top by only referring a few.

Fantasy players can also take precautions in case of a tie, as anyone who plays Fantazzle fantasy sports games can earn FanStock for tie-breaker points. The World Cup Bracket Game may be drawing to a close, but there are still two rounds and a championship game left to help your bracket earn extra points.

Keep in mind that Fantazzle isn’t stopping their summer games and fantasy promotions with the World Cup. Remember to play the FREE Fantasy Poker Challenge, as Fantazzle sponsors Fatty’s Poker in a fresh union of poker and fantasy games!

For updates and information on the free fantasy poker game, scoring, cash prizes, and Fatty’s Poker, check back regularly on the Fantazzle Blog until the game starts on July 5th, 2010.

Fatty’s Five Fantasy Poker Profiles

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Fantazzle and Fatty’s Poker are merely a week away from the start of their FREE Fantasy Poker Challenge, giving fantasy players the chance to fill rosters of poker players and have a shot at a free seat in the 2011 World Series of Poker.

However, this new fantasy poker game isn’t just about cards and luck. In fact, if you have the right information and pick the right guys from Fatty’s Poker, you’re likely to have the upper hand, as the two players selected from the Fatty’s pools earn double the points in the fantasy poker game.

To start the week, we’re profiling the first of two Fatty’s groups, the “Fatty’s Five”. Each group consists of five elite Fatty’s players who are available to be picked in their respective pools for the fantasy poker game. The members of the “Fatty’s Five” are Erik the “Luck Box”, “Big Al” Riccobono, Tommy “Jelly”, Chris “Toutie”, and Tommy “Newman”.

The easy pick here would be Al Riccobono, the leader in cash earnings out of this pool, winning around $165,000 live and almost $100,000 online. While the big money might be enticing, all fantasy players need to give hard looks at other aspects of each player’s game.

Experience can’t be ignored in an up-and-down game like poker, and it’s worth noting that Chris “Toutie” is the player in this pool that has played the longest, participating in poker tournaments since 2003. It’s also worth noting that Tommy “Newman” and Erik “Luck Box” are the newbies of the player pool, only participating in poker tournaments since 2005.

Other interesting notes are Erik “Luck Box” being “lucky”, and winning this year’s “Fatty’s Five” contest. “Newman” has cashed out in 4 of the last 5 WSOP events he has played in while “Big Al” Riccobono cashed out in both the 2007 and 2008 Main Event.

If we had to call it, the race is close between “Newman” and “Big Al”, with “Big Al” topping the competition due to his recent success, overall experience, and cash earnings.

WSOP Fantasy Poker Scoring

Monday, June 28th, 2010

Fantazzle’s free fantasy poker challenge brings the excitement and popularity of fantasy sports games and poker into one. The free fantasy poker challenge revolves around the 2010 WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas which starts July 5th. Our free fantasy game will provide the winner with a $10,000 entry into the 2011 Main Event.

Just like any other fantasy game, the more success your player has at the tournament, the more successful your team will be. Fantazzle has created a unique scoring system for this free fantasy game. Your lineup consists of 10 poker players, two Fatty’s players and 8 other professional poker players. Your Fatty’s poker players earn double the points the rest of your lineup will.

There are two ways your fantasy poker earns cash. The team with the most cash at the end of the tournament will win.

1) Survive to the end of a day during the 13-day tournament. The first five days, you will earn points when your players move onto the next round. Day 1- $5,000, Day 2- $10,000 and so on. Receiving cash for surviving days only lasts until Day 4.

2)  After Day 4 the amount of cash you earn depends on how much money your players get when they cash out
For example,  if your player is eliminated in 50th place and win $135,000 (numbers not accurate, just used for an example), you will receive that amount towards your fantasy poker cash. The further your player advances, the better chance you have at winning the seat at the 2011 Main Event.

Your two Fatty’s players receive double the amount of cash than the other eight on your team. Fantazzle has bios and poker stats listed on the player selection page. Be sure to do your research to earn more cash in the free fantasy poker game.

The fantasy poker game starts July 5th. Not only can you participate in the free fantasy poker game, but Fantazzle is offering cash games for the inner-gambler in you. Play head to head against a friend or play against 4 others for your chance to wins some large cash prizes.

FANTASY BASEBALL

Don’t forget to play our daily and weekly fantasy baseball games. The Weekly game starts every Monday, this weeks starts at 705pm ET. We also offer daily fantasy baseball twice a day on most occasions, depending on the MLB schedule. Daily fantasy baseball starts with the first game on the schedule for that day. Late game fantasy baseball is always around too, just in case you missed the daily game start.
