The Super Bowl talk is in full effect as the Giants and Patriots are awaiting their Super Sunday destinies. Rob Gronkowski sounds as if nothing will stop him from playing and the Giant’s defense seems like they won’t be letting Tom Brady or the rest of the Patriot’s offense get in their way.

For the big day Fantazzle will be offering both free and pay-to-play fantasy football games that will be awarding huge cash prizes to the winners. The Super Bowl Fantasy Football games will be starting at two different times to help our members enjoy the game in every way possible. With the 2011 season coming ot a close, I wanted to share a few of my thoughts regarding what I think I know moving forward …

Rookie QB’s – We were blessed with a great class this year, but it would be silly to expect such production. Andrew Luck will have all of the hype, but I am not drafting him as a fantasy starter.

Cam Newton – Ca$h Newton, as I like to refer to him, is NOT a top tier QB. In fact, I am not sure he is in the top two tiers. He had a great season and is a special talent, but don’t overreact.

Arian Foster – He can run with the best of them. He wasn’t a fluke in 2010, and should be a top 5 pick in 2012.

Justin Blackmon – The 6’1″ wide receiver is a stud in the making. He will have a better rookie season than Julio Jones. In fact, sign me up for a better 2012 than Jones as well.

Jimmy Graham – He is the NFL’s best TE. Gronkowski is great, don’t get me wrong, but next year, I’ve got Graham. He has an equal at QB, but he doesn’t have another capable TE on his team. Aaron Hernandez will cut into Gronk’s production a bit more next year, making Graham the top option.

Percy Harvin – He is a special talent, but Christian Ponder isn’t going to lead you to the promise land. Harvin is on the cusp of being a top 10 WR this year, but won’t be top 20 next season.

What’s going on fantasy fans. Hope your fantasy playoffs have started off on the right foot; I am here to help bring the championship home. I have no bias, so my picks can offer up a objective view to the week ahead. Eliminated from your playoffs? No worries, we’ve got plenty of weekly fantasy football at Fantazzle.

The late season in fantasy football is more about playing the right match ups than it is being loyal to your high draft picks. Following that logic, you must bench Mike Vick. He opposes the solid Jets pass defense, and is much less than 100%. His cracked rids slowed him last week, and the Jets aren’t a defense to get healthy against. Instead, roll with Joe Flacco against the Chargers. He’s playing better than Vick right now (100+ QB Rating in 3 of past 4 games) and faces a middle of the road pass defense.

I realize you likely drafted Rashard Mendenhall as an every week back, but I’m following standard operating procedure and benching running backs that play San Fran. Not only do the 49ers have the leagues best run defense and play this huge game at home, but Mendenhall has underwhelmed this season, averaging only 3.8 yards per carry. On the exact flip side, we’ve got a rested Felix Jones taking on the leagues worst run defense in Tampa Bay. The Cowboys have no depth at RB, and with Murray out for the year, look for Jones to produce in a big way.

Fantasy Football is more of a “what can you do for me now” than it is a “what have you done for me lately” type of game. Julio Jones made his owners jump for joy with two late touchdowns last week, one of which was a 75 yard strike from Matt Ryan, but don’t over rate the Falcons rookie. He has been up and down this year, and doesn’t deserve a spot in your lineup against the Jags on Thursday. Jacksonville’s boasts a stingy defense and runs the ball effectively, limiting Atlanta’s time with the ball. In fact, there is a “JJ” I would rather this weekend: James Jones. Greg Jennings will be sidelined for the remained of the regular season, but the Packers won’t stop passing the ball. Jordy Nelson moves  into Jennings role, and I like Jones to become the teams second option.

What up What up Fantasy Nation,

It’s playoff time, meaning there is even less room for error than normal. Whether you are active in Fantazzle’s weekly fantasy football games or have a league of your own, here are a list of names to bench during week 14′s action. I have also listed the backup plan, undervalued options that will prove more valuable.

I don’t care how stubborn you are, it’s time to recognize the 49ers as an elite run defense. For that reason, and the inconsistencies of the Cardinals offense, I am benching Beanie Wells in all formats this week. Instead, look to Redskin Roy Helu to fill in as a productive option. Washington will want to control the clock in an effort to keep Brady and Co. off the field. That makes Helu a good bet for 20 touches, and a productive afternoon.

Tebow wins real games, not fantasy ones. I am not considering any of his Bronco receivers this weekend against Da Bears. It’ll be a time of possession game with limited potential for any and all offensive weapons. Take a risk on injury prone Malcolm Floyd, as he seemed very healthy Monday night (4 catches 108 yards and a 52 yard score). The Chargers can throw the ball, and Rivers trusts a healthy Floyd as much as anyone.

Mark Sanchez, while his stats have been there occasionally, is not playing the QB position well enough to sell me on consistent production. Matt Hasselbeck, however, is a QB that tends to limit mistakes. The Saints will load the box to stop CJ2K from dominating, leaving Hasselbeck with match ups to exploit down the field.

I realize that the Bengals offensive has been a surprise to fantasy owners this year, but I don’t encourage starting their young TE this week. Jermaine Gresham faces a stingy Texans defense, and will be held in check. Sunday Night Football offers up a divisional showdown, and is home for an underrated TE that will outproduce Gresham. Jake Ballard will serve as an extended version of the running game, and prove crucial in the Giants attack against Dallas.

As a little bonus, I’ve got the best value play and the most overpriced option for this week in weekly salary cap fantasy football games. Thanks to FantasyWorldOrder.net, there is a free week of action at Fantazzle, so make sure to take advantage of it.

Carson Palmer travels to Lambeau Field to play the undefeated Packers. Green Bay doesn’t exactly win games on the defensive side of the ball (ask Eli Manning owners last week) and Oakland is likely to be playing from behind. He will certainly perform as a top 10 QB this week, and his price tag doesn’t do him justice.

On the flip side, I am not spending a dime on Dwayne Bowe this week. The QB situation in KC is a mess, not to mention they travel to play an elite pass defense in the Jets. Pass on Bowe this week as there are a handful of options that will cost less but produce more.

Greeting all weekly fantasy football die hards, and welcome to lucky week 13. If you’re facing tough decisions this week, and you’d like specific advise, tweet me at unSOPable23. Here’s a quick preview of three players I’m benching or not spending my valuable money in a weekly salary cap fantasy football games, and who are the typically inferior options in which I prefer.

Peyton Hillis is back in the Browns backfield and led the team in carries last week. But with an awful offense around him, and a hungry Ravens D coming to town, Hillis shouldn’t be reinserted into your good graces quite yet. Instead, look to the Lions Maurice Morris, who will start in place of an injured Kevin Smith. Detroit figures to feature their struggling running game in an effort to keep Drew Brees on the sidelines. I’m penciling MM in for at least 85 total yards.

The Houston Texans are expected to falter, but it won’t because of their stout defense and elite running attack. With the Texans looking to run the ball every down, expect a down weak from Matt Ryan. The Falcons time of possession will be low, and he won’t have enough opportunities to outperform somebody like Carson Palmer this week. Palmer has been rock solid of late for the Raiders, and the Dolphins (while hot) are not good defensively. Oakland’s running game is a load, and Miami will be forced to cover the speedy Raiders one on one.

Things have gone downhill for the Chiefs fast, and it’ll continue this week for their lone fantasy relevant player: Dwayne Bowe. The Bears are a top notch defensive unit, and with Tyler Palko behind center, the Bears secondary may touch the ball more than Bowe. Eric Decker (yes, that Eric Decker, the one who plays with Tebow) is the better option despite playing in a run first offense. He is Tebow’s go to man, and the Vikings actually stuff the run reasonably well. Denver doesn’t win this game with 55 rushes, and odds are that most of the air attack is filtered through Decker.

As the college football season winds down, the games hold more importance, as conference championships are on the line. Here are two players that will rock  this week college fantasy football games, and carry their owners.

David Wilson (RB for Virgina Tech) – Has managed at least 132 rush yards in every road game this season, and records 20+ carries in 75% of contests. He will get plenty of chances against a Clemson defense that surrenders 27.5 points per game.

Austin Davis (QB for Southern Miss) – Will be in a shoot out with Case Keenum, and has the talent to surprise. He’s thrown for 3,052 yards and 2.4 touchdowns for every INT. Davis has accounted for at least three scores in six of his teams last nine games, and he figures to make that sever out of ten on Saturday.

What’s up fantasy nation? Hopefully you’re ready for a Thanksgiving filled with great food and family time, not to mention some great football.

Fantazzle is honoring Thursday’s holiday with a “Turkey Day Special”, and I am here to help you select your roster for this fantasy football event. With three great games in the NFL and a rivalry that features two Texas teams in college football, there is no shortage of fantasy studs in action. Here are three players to include on your Thanksgiving day roster, and three players to avoid.

SALARY CAP FANTASY FOOTBALL: TURKEY DAY SPECIAL–> PLAY NOW!

Running Back

Yes, Reggie Bush has been solid of late, and you likely missed out on a week or two of production because you were skeptical. But don’t let that affect your decision making, as he isn’t worth starting this week against a top 5 run defense in Dallas. Instead, I advise taking a flyer on the Packers Ryan Grant. James Starks is banged up and appears to be on the wrong side of questionable, meaning Grant will get a solid workload. This is Rodgers team, but Detroit struggles to stop the run, and the Pack to look to establish Grant.

Wide Receiver

I’m not a Dolphins hater, but I am down on Brandon Marshall as well on Turkey Day. Dallas gives up the seventh fewest points to opposing wide receivers, and Marshall figures to be their main concern. Davone Bess would be the better value this week than Brandon Marshmellow (stay in the food theme with the holiday). I also like Laurent Robinson, who has recorded a score in four straight game, for as long as Miles Austin is sidelined.

Tight End

Vernon Davis is a tough match up, but Baltimore’s defense typically shows up in marquee games. I think they keep him out of the end zone, and hold him to under 80 yards. Brandon Pettigrew will outperform Davis in what figures to be a high scoring game against the Packers. Green Bay gives up the second most fantasy points to opposing TE’s: that combined with a hot Stafford works in Pettigrew’s favor.

As for the lone college game on the schedule, Texas and Texas A&M square off. One name jumps out from this game as potential game breakers: receiver Ryan Swope from A&M. With the teams stud RB Cyrus Gray highly questionable, I expect more of an aerial attack, with Swope being the teams top option. Since October 15, Swope is averaging 1.5 touchdowns per game. He has at least eight catches in all but one of those games, and should be heavily targeted on Thanksgiving.

Happy Monday,

After tonight’s Patriot/Chiefs game, another week of 2011 fantasy football action will be in the books, but not without it’s set of injuries and high scorer updates. Let’s take a look.

Matthew Stafford had the biggest day among all quarterbacks on Sunday, tossing 28 completions for 335 yards, 5 TD’s and 2 INT’s. If it weren’t for his iffy finger and that glove on his throwing hand, I would have started him over Eli Manning who went 18/264/1/1–darn it!

Running back Kevin Smith totaled 201 yards from scrimmage with 3 touchdowns and 6 receptions. Can you say, welcome back Kevin? Definitely look to try and add him to your roster this week in all weekly fantasy football game formats.

Aaron Rodgers threw for 299, 3 TD’s and a pick, Roddy White had a 7 catch, 147 yard game, Jordy Nelson kept his hot streak alive with a 6/123/2 performance and Torrey Smith got behind secondaries again this week finishing with 6/65/1. Let’s not forget about our boy nasty Nate Washington who finished his day off with 9/115/2.

Nate Washington is having a career year right now, so roll him while he’s hot! Johnny Knox had easily his best game of the season this week with 3/97/1 and 74 return yards for those of you in return yardage leagues. Let’s see if he does that again in week 12.

SALARY CAP FANTASY FOOTBALL: TURKEY DAY SPECIAL–> PLAY NOW!

As always, the week just wouldn’t be the same without it’s new set of injuries, so let’s get started. Adrian Peterson limped off the field in the first quarter with a left ankle injury after rushing for 26 yards and a touchdown. It looked as though he was getting ready to have a big game and then he got hurt. For now, he’s considered day-to-day with a high ankle sprain, but he might have to miss a game or two. Should that be the case, Toby Gerhart would be in line for extra work.

LaDainian Tomlinson missed the Thursday night game against the Broncos with a sprained MCL, but plans on playing this Sunday against Buffalo. Shonn Greene started on Thursday night and was supposed to have a big game with LT out, but was forced to leave early with a rib cage injury. He expects to pay this Sunday as well.

As a result, Joe Mcknight saw an increase in work and filled in admirably. He ran for 59 yards, caught 6 passes for 62 yards and had 39 return yards as well. Julio Jones did not play against the Titans with a bum hamstring, so again, Harry Douglass saw extra targets. Douglass finished with a modest 4 catch 51 yard day.

Hi all,

As we did last week, here is a list of players who should be benched, and options to replace them for your fantasy football games. On the college side, I offer up two names that will perform in a big way this week.

PLAY NOW –> FANTASY FOOTBALL GUARANTEED CASH TOURNAMENTS

Quarterback: Rookie Andy Dalton has taken the league by storm, putting his Bengals in the midst of a playoff battle. But a match up against the Ravens, who are coming off a loss, is the last thing his fantasy owners want. A hobbled AJ Green doesn’t help. Start Sam Bradford instead, as his match up against the Seahawks is a favorable one. The Seahawks will load the box, and Bradford will have single coverage to exploit all day.

Running Back: Beanie Wells is a solid running back, but not in week 11. It is time to respect what San Francisco is doing, and that’s physically imposing their will on opposing offenses. Wells should be benched in all formats, as he doesn’t stand a chance. Instead, look at the backfield in Detroit. Keep an eye on the starter, but as of now, Maurice Morris is the player to have. Whoever is slated to get the bulk of the carries in Motown should feast on the Panthers pathetic run D.

Wide Receiver: The Giants pass game has been efficient, especially of late, but I expect the Eagles to shut it down this weekend. Philly has shown signs of greatness in big games (recall the Cowboys game in prime time), and this week we will see it again. Hakeem Nicks is still a decent play, but I’m benching Manningham and Cruz this week. Turn back to that 49ers team if you want a better option, as Michael Crabtree will find breathing room against a porous Cardinals secondary.

College Fantasy Football Games Start Thursday at 8PM ET at Fantazzle

Arkansas is slowly creeping into the BCS picture, and the string of impressive performances figures to continue this week against Mississippi State. RB Dennis Johnson is my pick to click for the Razorbacks, as Mississippi State has been pounded by elite teams this season. Alabama (43 carries for 223 yards) and LSU (35-157) were relentless on the ground, and won because of it.

Casey Pachall and his Horned Frog teammates were the team of week 11, and figure to carry the momentum into Saturday’s game against Colorado State. Pachall led TCU to an upset victory over Boise State by passing for 473 yards and 5 scores. Colorado State isn’t half the team Boise State is, as they surrender over 30 points per game. Pachall’s passing performance wasn’t a fluke, the kid can play.
