Top 11 in Week 11

Many of you have been playing the Fantazzle Challenge Format and the Fantazzle Salary Cap Format in the past few weeks. With that in mind, I figured I’d key you in on some of the great options this week. Here are my 11 Must Starts (in both formats) for Week 11.

Drew Brees – Of course I’m going to put Drew here. First of all, he’s in my Fav Five (below), but perhaps more importantly, he gets to play Kansas City this week. K.C. is a disaster on both sides of the ball but especially on defense. K.C. is giving up over 260 passing yards a week. With Drew coming into town you can add about 150 yards to that total. It will help that K.C. is likely to put up some points themselves which should lead to N.O. passing it throughout the game.

Kurt Warner – What is he, like 70 years old? Doesn’t seem to matter. And it certainly won’t matter against a Seattle defense that has given up over 300 yards to 3 of the last 4 QB’s that they have faced. Kurt Warner has thrown 19 TD’s already this year. He’ll be at 23 TD’s by the end of the day on Sunday.

Petyon Manning – Peyton and the Colts have a small chip on their shoulder because of all the chatter around the league about the offense not clicking and the offense getting old (blah blah blah). Nobody will be saying that after the Colts host Houston. Peyton has a lot of weapons at his disposal and is beginning to find them with more frequency. Houston has allowed 6 TD passes in just the last two games. This is a very nice matchup. Put Peyton back on your radar.

Michael Turner – Atlanta hosts Denver on Sunday. Denver has given up 6 rushing TD’s in the last four games. Turner is not a superstar but he feasts against bad defenses like Denver (96 yards and a TD last week against N.O.). Turner will find the endzone. Hell, Ickey Woods could suit up on Sunday and probably find the endzone against Denver.

Matt Forte – Not sure if you are noticing the trend around the league, but young unproven RB’s are starting to supplant some of the so called superstars that were featured in all of your pre-season Fantasy Football magazines. The Bears offense runs through Forte. Period. Bears host GB this week and GB has allowed the most RB points in the last four games. That trend shouldn’t change on Sunday. Forte rolls.

Frank Gore – He’s still being slightly underutilized but he’s a big time superstar. And he’s going to look to prove that when he plays the Rams. Rams got rolled last week with 3 rushing TD’s. If that didn’t sound bad enough, try this: Rams have allowed 18 RB TD’s this year. 18. Ouch. This will be a big stat game for Gore.

Brandon Marshall – Denver hosts Atlanta this week. If you look at the Atlanta secondary, you would think that anyone can pass on them, but the reality is that their defense is pretty decent (only given up 2 WR TD’s in the last four games). Look for that to change this week. As you witnessed last week, Denver can pretty much pass at will. Brandon Marshall has had some miscues the last few games and he’ll be looking to make a statement game on Sunday. Cutler will find him often.

Roddy White – BMarsh will get his touches for Denver and Roddy White will get his for Atlanta. This kid can’t really be stopped this year (801 yards and 6 TD’s so far). Denver has been pretty good this year against the pass, but they have a very banged up secondary. Roddy is good for at least 1 TD in what should be a great day of offense for both teams.

Steve Smith – Smith tends to be one of those hit or miss guys because he’s not exactly a possession receiver. But that should be ok this week given his opponent. Carolina hosts Detroit this weekend. Detroit has allowed a WR to score on them in all but 1 game this year. Add to that the fact that Delhomme will look to atone for his embarrassing performance last week (4 INT’s) and you have a very big day for Mr. Smith.

Antonio Gates – Gates had 66 yards and a TD last week against K.C. In the last two weeks he’s got 14 catches and 2 TD’s. Pretty good production for a TE. Gates is seemingly healthy too. He’s got a daunting opponent in Week 11 as the Chargers are at Pittsburgh. But the Steelers have allowed a TE to score a TD in 4 of their last 6 games. Should be a nice day for Gates.

Dallas Clark – Clark had a slow start to the season but he’s got 3 TD’s in the last 4 games and should add to that total when Houston plays at Indy. The Texans have allowed 3 TD’s to TE’s in the last 2 games. Easy money.

Make sure you have these guys near the top of your list this week. PouringReign.
